The Supreme Court's order for a CBI probe into the Sushant Singh Rajput death case was on Wednesday described by Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Gupteshwar Pandey as a 'victory for justice against injustice'.

Senior Bihar Police officer, Vinay Tiwari was rushed to Mumbai on Sunday to speed up the probe into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, amid a reported standoff between Mumbai and Bihar Police forces over the investigation.

Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Gupteshwar Pandey said on Saturday that a team of Bihar Police, which went to Mumbai in connection with the probe into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has not yet been able to "locate" the main accused Rhea Chakraborty.

The flood havoc in Bihar is continuously worsening as people in 12 districts are bearing the brunt of floods due to overflow in almost all major rivers and tributaries in the state. Over 38 lakh people of the state are affected by the floods, while 11 people have died so far in various incidents.

The FIR alleges that Rhea left Sushant's home after taking Sushant's credit cards, jewellery, money, laptop and doctors' reports, among other things. There is also a mention of Rs 15 crore getting transferred to various unknown accounts from Sushant's bank account.

According to the information received from the districts, 15 persons were killed by lightning during the past 24 hours in the state. Of these, six persons died in Vaishali, two in Lakhisarai, three in Samastipur and one each in Gaya, Banka, Nalanda and Jamui districts.

In Bihar, more people were killed by lightning strikes in a week than due to coronavirus. On Thursday, 26 more people died in fresh lightning strikes across the state.

At least 83 people were killed by lightning in various districts of Bihar, and 24 in Uttar Pradesh while many people were reported to be injured as heavy rain and thunderstorms lashed several areas of north India on Thursday, a government official said.

Amid the ongoing border dispute between India and Nepal, a Bihari farmer from Sitamarhi district was killed while two others were injured in indiscriminate firing by the Nepal Police on Friday at the Indo-Nepal border.

Six labourers were killed on Tuesday morning when a truck carrying them collided with a bus in Bhagalpur district of Bihar, police said. Four others were injured in the accident.

The person belonging to Munger district had returned from Qatar and was admitted to Patna AIIMS for a serious kidney ailment. Later he was found to be also affected by coronavirus. 'He died on Saturday,' Singh said.
