Due to heavy nightlong cloud cover, night temperatures rose above the freezing point throughout the Kashmir Valley on Monday except the ski resort of Gulmarg, weather officials said.

Cyclone Montha in the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a severe cyclone and is likely to cross the Andhra Pradesh coast between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam near Kakinada on Tuesday night.
