The former Chief Minister of the then Left front government and also the CPI(M) Politburo member Manik Sarkar on Saturday campaigned for the Congress and I.N.D.I.A bloc candidate Ashish Kumar Saha here at Agartala Bankumar bazar and asked the CPI(M) leaders and workers to vote for the Congress leader Ashish Kumar Saha in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Addressing a gathering at Bankumar Bazar, Sarkar said, “Vote for the Congress candidate Ashish Saha in the West parliamentary seat, or else the BJP will take the advantage out of it.”
“There is no wrong in voting for the Congress party being the communist, because the congressmen had voted for the CPI(M) in the last 2023 general assembly election in Tripura,” Sarkar said, adding that there is a need to fight united cutting across the political lines and oust the BJP from the power pertaining to the interest of the nation.
Sarkar slammed the BJP and alleged that the country is being pushed towards destruction and if the BJP is voted to power for the third time the country will face more destruction, where people will lose their all rights.
“Worried of the emergence of the I.N.D.I.A bloc which raised slogans to oust BJP from power, the ruling BJP made an attempt to manipulate the agencies like Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation to push the opposition leaders in jail and throttle their voice.”
Manik Sarkar urged the people of Tripura to vote for the I.N.D.I.A bloc in this upcoming Lok Sabha election and oust the BJP from power.
