Minister Ratan Lal Nath shares fruits from his orchard with villagers

AGARTALA:

In a heartwarming gesture that has become a cherished annual tradition, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Sunday once again distributed fruits from his personal orchard among the people of his native village, Koroitala in Mohanpur under West District.

Accompanied by his wife and local leaders, well-wishers, and residents, Minister Nath personally handed out baskets of mangoes, pineapple and other seasonal fruits to villagers — an act that drew smiles and emotional reactions from all age groups.

Children, elders, and women queued up not just for the fruits, but also for a moment of interaction with a leader they proudly call one of their own.

Speaking on the matter, Minister Nath said, “My village is my family. I have gained immense joy by distributing the fruits of my orchard among my own people. The smiles on the faces of my loved ones have overwhelmed me.”

He added that sharing the produce of his land with the villagers is not a political activity, but an emotional connection that brings him peace and purpose.

“This tradition is my way of giving back to the soil and the people who have nurtured me,” he said.
