The former PWD Minister of Tripura Badal Chowdhury who has been grilled by the Tripura Police vigilance Cell for at least three times over infrastructural works which were done by the Left Front government in 2008, today defended the former Union Finance Minister of UPA II government P Chidambaram's arrest made on Wednesday night. He said, "If the CBI can scale into the wall of Chidambaram's residence to arrest him than anything can happen here also and there is no doubt on this."
This is for the third time that the former Minister is grilled by the vigilance to know more about the infrastructural works. However, coming pout from the vigilance office today after at least one and half hour, the former minister Badal Chowdhury said, "I am ready to cooperate with the Vigilance over infrastructural works done during the previous Left front government. He later said, "Despite knowing the fact that as per the norms no minister is involved with handing over works to any agencies to built infrastructure, I am being questioned several times." He explained that PWD department jointly with the CPWD is the decision making body regarding this.
The former Minister talking to the media outside the vigilance office today also said, "All the infrastructures built during the period of 2008 to 2018 are superior quality and that it will remain the same for at least 100 years." Later on being asked about he said the vigilance did not asked him about any specific amount of the works but they wanted to know some details about the decision which we had taken for PWD works.
