CPI-M Sabroom Subdivision Committee submitted a memorandum to the BDO of Satchand Block at 12 p.m. today with seven point charter of demand.
MP Jitendra Choudhury, MLA Prabhat Choudhury and Sabroom Subdivision Secretary of CPI-M Dipak Choudhury led the rally which assembled at the block office premises after parading different areas of Satchand.
The main demand was to increase rate of wages under MNREGA up to Rs. 340 and to arrange work for 200 days in a year and to establish democratic right of people and rule of law in the state, to stop harassment of allowance beneficiaries in the name of scrutiny and to increase allowance up to Rs. 2000, to appoint the unemployed youths at vacant posts of different departments without canceling the vacant posts, to buy the crops of farmers by support price according to recommendation of Swaminathan Commission, to provide seeds, fertilizer, insecticide for farmers in time, to provide compensation to the farmers who were affected by flood, to arrange drinking water at all areas etc.
A five members delegation led by Dipak Choudhury and MLA Prabhat Choudhury met the BDO after the rally. MP Jitendra Choudhury and Mihir Patary delivered speech at the rally.
