Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that the main goal of the state government is to accelerate the development of the people living in the marginal areas of the state.
He said that specific plans must be worked on to bring the benefits of development projects to the people in these marginal areas.
“The government is determined to ensure the socio-economic development of the people, including infrastructure development and road connectivity in the marginal areas,” said Dr. Saha during the first meeting of the Tripura State Employment Guarantee Council for the financial year 2025–26, held in Meeting Room No. 2 of the Secretariat today.
He said that MGNREGA is very important for the development of the rural economy, as most of the state is rural.
“The state government is working with emphasis on creating permanent assets for the development of rural areas. Therefore, it is necessary for officials at various levels, including the District Magistrate and Community Development Officer, to work in constant coordination with the people's representatives of the concerned areas to implement the development programs,” he said.
The Chief Minister also laid emphasis on regular monitoring to maintain the quality of work, in addition to keeping public representatives informed about the progress of development work.
He said that if any problem arises in the implementation of development programs, it should be brought to the notice of public representatives immediately, and initiatives should be taken to resolve it.

Sinha, Secretary of the Rural Development Department Abhishek Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. P.K. Chakraborty, secretaries of various departments, CEO of TTAADC, and District Magistrates of the 8 districts of the state were present in the meeting and participated in the discussion.
