Chief Minister directs bank to provide ease for lenders

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today took strong exception to the reports of harassing people in the name of granters while applying for small loans and asked the banks to co-operate with the people who are willing to do something. “Insisting for granters for small loans discourage people who might have ideas to try something new” the Chief Minister told the 129th State Level Bankers’ Committee Meeting.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also suggested the banking institutions of the state to be dedicated to support the unemployed section of people so that they could move towards self-employment. “Sectors like Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, and small and medium level enterprises are being given more and more importance by the government. And, the banks are also needed to play a crucial role in these sectors by providing loans” he told the meeting where chairman and higher officials of all the banks remained present.

On the other hand, Chief Secretary U Venkateshwaralu suggested the banks to improve CD ratio, KCC cards statistics and loans for self-help groups. Additional Chief Secretary Kumar Alok also echoed the same.
