Tripura to ink MoU with banks for interest-free loan to B.Ed students

AGARTALA:

The state education minister on Saturday while addressing the tribal students during interaction programme at Agartala Pargna Bhawan has said that the state government shall soon sign an agreement with different banks to initiate the loan process to the students.

He reiterated that the government has taken a decision to help those who can't afford the cost of B.Ed training.

However, the state government earlier announced to sponsor 150 Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates for 2 year B. Ed courses in West Bengal. The Department of Tribal Welfare will bear all expenses of course fee for selected beneficiaries, who would study in two colleges of West Bengal.

Meantime, the students who are being selected according to their merit to study B.Ed and D.El.Ed courses outside Tripura on Saturday joined the interaction programme at Agartala Pragna Bhawan organised by the Tripura Tribal Welfare Department and expressed joy over the initiative being taken by the Tripura government.

The students reacting over the initiative has hoped that the colleges that have been selected by the Tripura government shall provide better education.
