Tripura health Minister concerns over increasing rate of HIV cases in Tripura and others

AGARTALA:

Concerning over the increasing rate of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection cases in Northeastern states of Tripura and other two states including Mizoram and Manipur, the state health and family welfare minister Sudip Roy Barman on Saturday declared war against HIV-AIDS.

"It is a matter of concern because when the overall number of HIV infected persons in the country is declining, there is a spurt in the number of infected persons in Tripura, Manipur, and Mizoram," Barman added while addressing the gathering at Agartala Rabindra Bhawan during the observance of World AIDS Day.

Barman also urged upon to spread massive awareness against HIV-AIDS and appraise the common masses of this state of the causes of AIDS like diseases.
