Health minister Sudip Roy Barman inaugurated Prime Minister’s Dialysis Project at South District Hospital in Santirbazar subdivision at 11-30 a.m. today. Speaking on the occasion Health minister appealed the doctors to rectify themselves who are prescribing medicine of famous branded company instead of proper medicine in response to temptation of representatives to provide house, car and foreign tour. At the same time he appealed the doctors to reduce refer cases by providing proper service to the patients.
Health minister visited different wards of the hospital and heard the problems and complains of patients. Then the minister and guests delivered speeches. Among others MLA Biplab Ghosh, MLA Rampad Jamatia, former Deputy Speaker Gourisankar Reang, Sabhadhipati of South Himangsu Roy and others were present the occasion.
Health minister Barman visited the operation theatres at the end of the programme. Observing water coming through the roof of the operation theatre Health minister organized meeting with the authority of the hospital and advised to repair the room as early as possible. They also made the minister aware about lack of ENT Specialist doctor in the hospital.
Besides, the hospital has no operator of Sonography machine.
The hospital is running properly due to tireless labour of three doctors. They are Dr. Santanu Das, Dr. Atanu Sarkar and Dr. Animesh Choudhury. The locals demanded to send some doctors like them.
Sources said that the Health minister visited the hospital first time after taking oath. Meanwhile many new works completed at the hospital on the occasion of his visit. Local people demanded more visit of the Health minister to develop the condition of the hospital.
