Shyama Puja performed in the Police Stations of North District with traditional devotion and fervor. Minister, Police Officials and above all local people participated in Shyamapuja in Police Stations in the North - Dharmanagar, Kadamtala, Churaibari, Panisagar and Baghbasha.
Along with Puja, Police personnel at Bagbasha outpost organized civic programmes and a three-day long cultural programme. As part of the celebration, in-charge of Baghbasha outpost distributed school bags to 32 meritorious students and blankets were given to 25 people belonging to poorer section. State Minister Bijita Nath inaugurated the Puja at Baghbasha PS in presence of District Police Superintendent Manik Das, SDPO Jyotisman Das Choudhury and former State president of BJP, Ranajoy Deb.
Speaking on the occasion Manik Das said, Police undertook several welfare programmes at various places from Vishyakarma Puja and curtain will be drawn after Shyama Puja. Bijita Nath congratulated people for maintaining peace in the State even though several other parts of country are witnessing disturbances. Large number of common people took part in Puja.
Our Nutan Bazar correspondent added that Sarbajanin Kalipuja of Jatanbari inaugurated through incessant rain at Karbook subdivision yesterday. This is the 8th year of the Kalipuja. The puja budget was Rs.10 lakh.
The puja pandal depicted an eminent reception hall known as Candle Keri’s. Besides the Puja committee organized colourful lighting, Anandamela, tablu to entertain the devotees. MLA of Karbook constituency Priyamani Debbarma inaugurated puja yesterday. Despite this Annabhog distributed among 4000 devotees today with initiative of members of New Young Star club. Many people visited the puja pandal inspite of continuous rain.
