Five days long Sepahijala District Level Book Fair ended with lot of enthusiasm at Sonamura today. It is first book District level book fair. Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma attended in the function as Chief Guest in the evening today.
Speaking on the occasion Jishnu Debbarma said, “Book has no alternative in the present age of information technology and it enriches our knowledge and mind. So we should create attraction of new generation towards book and increase their interest for reading book”
Referring fair creates bondage among people he said “it is the heritage of the state” He advised all to collect and read good books”
MLA Subhash Chandra Das thanked the organizers for concluding the book fair successfully. He also expressed happiness for creation of bondage of harmony among people on the occasion of the fair.
Eminent Social worker Baharul Islam Majumder said that the enthusiasm of people on the occasion of book fair has created encouragement to organize next book fair in an extensive and modified manner.
Among others SDM Saju Wahid Ahamed delivered welcome address.
Chairperson of Book Fair Committee Pratima Bhowmik said, “Book enriches our knowledge and consciousness” She stressed on motivating interest of new generation for reading book. A colourful cultural programme was organized on the occasion. Eminent Boul singer of the country Purnadas Boul performed songs in the function.
