An ultimate disorderliness is prevailing at District Disabled Rehabilitation Centre situated at Sadar of Gomati district. Most of the time doctors remain absent at all 5 sections rehabilitation for physically challenged persons. Besides, the physically challenged persons alleged that issue of certificate has been stalled due to lack of internet connection during last few days.
Meanwhile, the disabled youths are facing lot of suffering as they cannot use lavatory room as there is no supply of water.
The then Health minister Tapan Chakraborty inaugurated the DDRC of Gomati district on October 7 in 2011 in presence of Social Education and Social Welfare minister Bijita Nath, Vice Chairman of Planning Commission Kashab Majumder, MLA Madhab Saha and MLA Partha Das. Sabhadhipati of South District Himangsu Roy presided over the meeting.
The guests assurances of guests at the inaugural function has not been implemented till today. On being asked about the problem CMO Nirumohan Jamatia said that he would collect information about the matter. He assured to stop harassment of the physically challenged persons.
Physically Challenged persons further alleged that many of them go back home as they fail to meet doctor at DDRC after coming from different parts of the district on every Monday.
