Once coming and staying at Ghorakappa was a matter of panic. There was no road, power connection, water and health service facility in the area, said Health minister Badal Choudhury while inaugurating 24 hours health service and 10 Bedded Primary Health Centre at Ghorakappa today. It was a long pending demand of 10 to 12 thousand people of Ghorakappa, Khaptali, Bakachatal and Sukhancherri ADC villages. Health minister opened the service of the hospital for those people today.
Recalling the past days Health minister said, “Development started since the period of first Left Front. But many people and security personnel murdered and abducted in between period due to attack of terrorists. Late Naray Choudhury donated land for hospital in Ghrakappa. But the extremists murdered Naray Choudhury brutally by bringing down from car”. Choudhury stressed on remembering the history of sacrifice of the family.
Referring lot of sacrifice of people in Tripura he further said, terrorists used to hide in Bangladesh after operation through Ghrakappa due to nearness of the neighbour country after Feni River.
Emphasizing on recalling the black days to the youths he said, “IPFT is terrorizing and misguiding youths with the slogan of separate and free state while BJP is favouring them.” He called BJP to refrain from such conspiracy. He also appealed to strengthen peace, harmony and unity in the state.
An amount of Rs. 5.5 crore spent for construction of the hospital building, quarter and boundary wall. Among others MLA Priyamani Debbarma, Sathai Mog from ADC, chairman of Ghorakappa Panchayat Priyanka Das, Dr. N. Darlong, Ajit Lodh were present in the meeting. The hospital started with 2 doctors, 4 nurses and 4 group- D staffs.
