Tripura demands Centre for 4 more NH: CM Dr Manik Saha

Tripura government has sent a proposal to the Center seeking its intervention over inclusion of 4 more National Highways in the state, said Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said on Monday.

During the second day of the budget session in the Tripura Legislative Assembly, Dr. Saha said that the state currently has six national highways, with a total length of 923.31 km.

Dr Saha, who also holds the PWD portfolio, said that the government has demanded the Centre to designate four state roads as National Highway. The roads include Kamalpur-Santirbazar (NH-8) via Ambassa, Gandacherra, Amarpur (NH-208) with a length of 148 km, Champaknagar (Jirania) to Udaipur via Khumulwng (NH-8) and Jampuijala (with a length of 40 km), Amarpur to Udaipur (with a length of 24 km), and Shantirbazar to Belonia (with a length of 17.25 km).

Dr. Saha further informed that the state currently has 21 state highways, totaling 1057.45 km in length.
