The separatist party of Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) on Wednesday protesting against the ‘Jihadi attack’ on the minority class people in the neighboring Bangladesh has knocked the door of Bangladesh Assistant High commissioner Office in Agartala. The IPFT has demanded for a permanent solution to the rising problem in Bangladesh.
In a deputation, placed before the Deputy High Commissioner Shakhawat Hossain, the IPFT has expressed its serious concerns on the incident of large scale atrocities committed upon the innocent indigenous (tribals) people of Bangladesh in Chittagong Dist (Rangamati) on June 2ndthis year.
In a major incident on June 2 at Longdu area under Rangamati district of CHT, the criminals among plain landers launched unprovoked attacks on Chakma tribals, burning a seventy yearold tribal lady alive and killing five others besides displacing hundreds of tribals from their homes. These tribals have now been living without a shelter and waiting for death by disease or in further incidents of attacks.
It is also mentionable here that in order to protest this brutal attack the Tripura unit of Chakma National Council of India (CNCI) and Chakma Students Association (CSA) will organize a procession through streets of Agartala on June 8 and a delegation representing them will meet in deputation with the Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh Mission here to submit a memorandum listing their grievances over the ‘ghastly incidents’.
