The state social welfare minister Bijita Nath on Wednesday has inaugurated a daylong seminar on ‘Protection of Women from Domestic Violence, Act-2015’ held at Agartala Pragna Bhawan today. However, a series of issues were bei ng taken up during the seminar.
Addressing the programme today Minister Bijita Nath said that despite equal rights are being dispatched for both man and women in the society, the male dominated society has come up raising the violence against women in the country.
However, the Tripura Social Welfare Department has organised the seminar on Wednesday. The Tripura Commission for Women (TCW) Chairperson Manika Dutta has remained present in the programme who expressed her serious concern over the rising rate of crimes against women.
