The year 2020 has begun on a sad note with the outbreak of COVID-19. This has led to the disruption of the Education system in India. Exams like JEE Main 2020 are running behind schedule which has led to the delay of JEE Advanced exam for the current year. The JEE Advanced Registration for the year 2020 is slated to start from 1st May - 6th May. While the exam scheduled on 17th May is now postponed till JEE Main results are out.
JEE Advanced is a national-level entrance exam which is conducted by the seven IITs of various zones under the Joint Admission Board (JAB). This exam helps you to take admission into Bachelor's, Integrated Masters and Dual Degrees for all the IITs. The exam includes two compulsory papers, i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. The time duration is 3 hours for each paper. Each of the paper will have three sections, i.e. Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
JEE Advanced Registration for the year 2020
The application form for JEE Advanced Registration 2020 will be available on the official website from 1st May onwards till 6th May. You will find the steps to fill up the application form underneath; please check them carefully so that you don't make mistakes while applying.
Step 1: How to fill the Registration form
● Visit the official website, and log in with your JEE Main 2020 Roll Number and Date of Birth.
● Now, create a new password to complete Registration
● You will be redirected to the application form page. There you have to fill all the details like Personal, Academic, Educational, JEE Mains Application Number, Exam Centre, etc.
● Please mention the number of attempts made, your exam centre, the medium of language for the exam, category and the requirement of a scribe (if any).
Step 2: Upload Documents - But which ones?
Now, you will have to upload all your education and relevant documents on the portal in jpg format. But, the obvious question is, which are all these documents to upload? Please check the steps and list below:
● You must upload a recent quality scanned photograph of yours along with the signature in JPEG format.
● Please note that your photo should be more than 4kb but less than 40 kb in size.
● The signature size should be 1kb to 30kb.
● All other documents should be between 50kb and 300kb.

Step 3: Pay the fees
After filling up all the details and uploading the documents, make the payment of Application Fees. After the payment is done, take a print out of the Application for further reference. Kindly Note - JEE Advanced Registration Form will not be withdrawn after post-registration. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Step 4: Printing the Confirmation Page
After the payment of fees, you can submit your application form. After that, save and print the confirmation page for future references.
JEE Advanced Registration: How to prepare better in this lockdown
Well, this lockdown can be a blessing in disguise for at least the applicants. You can utilize this time further for last-minute preparations.
● One way to prepare for JEE Advanced is solving previous papers. Thus, you get an idea about question trends. You can access the JEE Advanced previous question papers on the official website till last year.
● Mock Tests for JEE Advanced 2020 is available on the website. You can also take the help of that.
● With plenty of online portals and apps at hand, studying during this lockdown has not been a problem. Students can also access IIT PAL videos for sharing and clearing doubts and strategize the preparation. You can also visit YouTube, where you will find a plethora of videos on JEE Advanced preparation.
● In between, you can watch Netflix or Amazon Prime or YouTube videos or watch old films on TV to release your exhaustion and boredom, and stay relaxed all the time.
JEE Advanced Registration: Current Updates on this year exam

● Now, 2,50,000 top JEE MAIN 2020 applicants are eligible for JEE Advanced 2020.
● The registration fee has been increased for JEE Advanced. Now, General and OBC (male and transgender) applicants will pay 2,800 INR. Female applicants of all categories will pay 1400 INR.
● JEE Advanced will happen in the USA for the first time. Due to this reason, the authorities will set up an Exam Center in the San Francisco area.
● The JEE Advanced Exam for the current year is postponed until further notice. The exam was scheduled to happen on 17th May 2020 previously.
