The state education minister Ratan Lal Nath on Wednesday inaugurated the new academic Block-II building of the Shantirbazar degree college and said that government is working to build world-class facilities in the government schools and degree colleges so as to render quality education to the students of this state.
Addressing the inaugural programme here at Shantirbazar Degree College the minister said that in an aim to uplift the students belonging to the poorer section of the society by introducing Super-30 project.
The construction of the building was funded under the scheme of CASP-RUSA. The project cost of the building is Rs. 422.00 lakhs. The new academic building for model Degree College is equipped with 4 class rooms, 4 science laboratories, 2 staff rooms and 2 lavatories. Furthermore, provision has been kept for future vertical extension of this academic building.
MLA Pramod Reang and MLA Arun Chandra Bhowmik among others were present in the inaugural programme.
