Union Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik on Saturday inaugurated ‘Samajik Adhikarita Sibir’ at Belonia Old Town hall.
The camp was organized by the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India and the South Tripura District Administration.
In the camp, 250 disabled people and senior citizens under Belonia Municipal Municipal Council and Bharat chandranagar block were provided with various mobility and support materials.
All these moving and supporting materials are provided under ADIP and RVY schemes of the Government of India.
It is to be noted that, 1,585 Divyangjans under all Block Offices, Nagar Panchayats, and Municipal Council areas of the South Tripura district have been given mobility and support materials. Rs 1 crore 32 lakh rupees have been spent for this.
Inaugurating the camp, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik said, “On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, ‘Samajik Adhikarita Shibir’ was held at 72 places in 28 states of the country. In all these camps mobility and aids were provided to disabled and senior citizens.”
She said that the central government has taken various schemes for the welfare of the poor.
“All these projects are also being implemented in the state. Scholarships are being provided to 2 lakh 4 thousand Divyangjans students of the country. DDRC would soon be launched at Belonia in South Tripura district”, she said.
The minister also inaugurated the 24-hour services of Radhanagar Primary Health Center in Belonia.
