Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today inaugurated the mushroom pickle made by the Self Help group of Gokul Nagar Gram Panchayat in the Kumarghat subdivision. Mithu Rani Chakraborty, the owner of this team, started mushroom cultivation in December 2018 after got training from SBI Rural Self-employment Training Institute.
At present Mithu Rani Chakraborty produces 65 to 80 kg of mushrooms daily. She is selling these mushrooms at Rs 150 per kg. By selling mushrooms, her monthly income is now around Rs 35,000. After inaugurating the mushroom pickle unit, Mr. Deb visited two mushroom processing units of Mithu Rani Chakraborty.
Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister said that the self-help team formed by Mithu Rani Chakraborty has now become self-reliant in the path shown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They are making a living for themselves as well as for others.
After inaugurating the mushroom pickling unit at Gokulnagar, the Chief Minister visited the Primary Health Center at Fatikray. During the visit, Mr. Dev handed over the smart cards of Prime Minister's Jan Arogya Yojana to the four persons. The Chief Minister visited the Unkoti district and visited Bilaspur reservoir also. He was accompanied by Unkoti District Council President Amalendu Das, District Magistrate Tapas Roy, and Police Officer Dr. Chandan Saha. Informing Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb about the development plan of the reservoir, District Magistrate Roy said that a plan has been prepared and sent to the state government in the form of development of Fisheries; animal resources, Agricultural gardens, and Land Conservation.
