Biplab Kumar Deb, BJP's candidate for the West Parliamentary constituency, took a swipe at CPI(M), inviting them to switch allegiance to BJP.
He asserted that true communists would never align with Congress.
Deb pointed out the absence of Manik Sarkar, a four-time Chief Minister and Politburo member of CPI(M), during the filing of nominations, suggesting Sarkar's opposition to the alliance with Congress.
He implied that leaders like Sarkar would never support Congress, urging them instead to vote for BJP.
Highlighting the benefits that Tripura has received under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Deb criticized CPI(M) for allegedly neglecting the state's development.
Yesterday, we also filed nominations, and the candidate of the INDIA Bloc filed their nomination. People of Tripura have observed one thing: all the Congress and CPI(M) leaders were present, but the four-time Chief Minister and Politburo member, Manik Sarkar was absent as he is against this alliance. I believe that people like Manik Sarkar will never cast their vote for a Congress candidate. The real CPI(M) leaders will never vote for Congress, so the only option is Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and the BJP. I want to appeal to them to come and vote for the BJP. Voting for Congress will not be beneficial, but if you vote for BJP, the people of Tripura will respect you," said Deb, who was also a former Chief Minister of Tripura.
On this day, he highlighted that the people of Tripura have benefited in various ways due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but CPI(M) has destroyed the state.
He accused CPI(M) of prioritizing state power over the welfare of the people, claiming they failed to work towards the betterment of Tripura.
Furthermore, Deb lamented the violence during CPI(M)'s rule, mentioning Congress workers who suffered and emphasizing their unity in contesting the elections.
He concluded by urging voters to support BJP, emphasizing the respect they would receive from the people of Tripura for doing so.
