In a show of frustration over persistently neglected road conditions, auto drivers took to the streets this morning, blocking the thoroughfare from Maharajganj Bazar to Maheshkhala. The blockade brought traffic to a standstill, underscoring the severity of the issue and the urgency for action.
For a considerable period, the road linking Maharajganj Bazar to Maheshkhala has deteriorated, causing significant hardships for drivers navigating the area. Despite repeated complaints lodged with high-ranking officials of the Department of Public Works, pertinent measures to address the longstanding issue were not forthcoming, leaving drivers grappling with numerous challenges.
In response to the blockade, officials from the PWD have offered assurances that the road's repair is imminent. These assurances served as the catalyst for the auto drivers to temporarily halt their protest, signaling a tentative resolution pending the fulfillment of promised reforms.
The standoff between frustrated drivers and the authorities highlights the dire need for proactive measures to maintain and improve the region's infrastructure, ensuring safe and efficient travel for all commuters.
