To render advanced health care facilities and as part of intensifying combat against the deadly COVID-19 virus posing serious threat to humankind, Chief Minister Bipab Kumar Deb on Tuesday dedicated 100-bedded 'Lifeline Express' train and freshly designed health and wellness centres at Sabroom rail station in South Tripura district.
Deb said, "At a time when the COVID-19 cases are surging at alarming rate in the state of Tripura along with rest of the nation, this lifeline express and wellness centres in Sabroom town shall play a key role towards rendering better and advanced health care facilities to the people of this area."
He said, "The Centre under the leadership of PM Modi has targeted to build a total of 1.5 lakh health and wellness centres across the nation by 2022."
Meantime, Deb said, "Most of the people who succumbed to the Coronavirus in our state had a travel history and were not abide by the quarantine norms and guidelines of home isolation." The CM however pitched for home isolation for the persons found infected with the virus.
He reiterated that government has already announced a package for the person in hone isolation. The packages include essential food free of cost for 10 days or Rs. 1500 per family in home isolation for 10 days. Over 2000 COVID-19 Positive people are currently in home isolation, he said.
Deb today also felicitated the frontline workers at Sabroom including doctors, nurses, other medical staff and police.
The Chief Minister today also made a visit to the ongoing construction site of bridge over river Feni at Sabroom connecting neighbouring Bangladesh. He however directed the concerned authority to maintain quality construction and speedy completion of the bridge which aims to boost the trade between the two nations.
Deb later joined BJP Party's organisational meet at Sabroom, where the local leaders along with the party supporters and workers remained present.
