In a distressing incident in the Quicha Bari area under Tulashikhar block of Khowai district, a water tanker truck lost control, leading to a harrowing accident. The vehicle, while taking off, suddenly veered backward, leaving 9 injured while 4 among them are critical.
Eyewitnesses reported that the driver attempted to regain control by applying the brakes, but tragically, the tanker overturned. The aftermath left nine individuals injured, including the driver himself. Swift action from locals facilitated the rescue operation, with the injured promptly transported to Khowai District Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Out of the nine injured, four individuals were in critical condition, necessitating their transfer to GB Pant Hospital for specialized care. Following initial treatment, four others were discharged from Khowai District Hospital, while one individual remains under medical supervision.
The authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident, emphasizing the importance of road safety measures to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future.
