Two held with 61 kg dry ganja from Agartala Railway Station

AGARTALA:

In yet another significant development to the anti-drug drive, the GRP jointly with the RPF on Sunday evening detained two Bihar youths with 61 kgs of dry cannabis on their trolley bags from Agartala Railway station.

The detained were identified as Dipak Kumar (20) and Bhushan Roy (21) of Bihar state.

Based on specific information, the GRP and RPF troopers laid a trap in the railway station. OC Tapas Das informed that the police had received prior information about the transportation of a large amount of ganja via Kamalabati express.

“We suspected two youths while they were entering the rail station through the parcel office. Accordingly, we searched them and their trolley bags to seize the ganja packets weighing around 61 kg,” he told reporters.

He further informed that both the youths had reached here at Agartala 4-5 days back from Bihar and they were supposed to travel back to their home town on Sunday evening.
