Aiming to equip media persons with essential knowledge and skills for comprehensive election coverage, the Tripura State Election Commission on Wednesday organized a daylong training programem for the media personnel here at Agartala Pragna Bhavan.
State Chief Electoral Officer Puneet Agarwal accompanied by the Addition CEO Subhashish Bandopadhyay, Additional CEO Usa Jen Mog, Director of Information & Cultural Affairs department Bimbisar Bhattacharya, Joint Director of ICA Anupam Chakraborty and others were present in the training programme.
The speakers mainly highlighted various election laws, regulations and codes of conduct, ensuring media personnel have a clear understanding of regulations governing election coverage.
The training programme focused on equipping journalists, reporters, and other media professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively cover the electoral process.
Resource persons on the occasion highlighted the role and importance of media in elections, media facilitation and media regulations. The media persons were also provided with hands-on training on EVM and VVPAT.
