The state tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Friday inaugurated the three days long tradition Neer Mahal Water Festival at Melagarh and said that the government is working meticulously to boost the tourism sector of the state through multifaceted plans of infrastructural development of the tourist destinations.
“Government is working to introduce the Neer Mahal water palace of Tripura in the world tourism map to attract more tourists in the destination having historical importance,” he said, adding that tt is the responsibility of the public to maintain the modern infrastructure that is being developed in the tourist centers.
The state Cooperative Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, MLA Kishore Barman, and others were present in the programme.
The festival will last till October 8, where several cultural programmes followed by the festivals’ big attraction boat race by the local boaters will be held.
