In a bid to strengthen emergency blood supply services across the state, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury chaired a high-level preparatory meeting at the State Secretariat today.
The meeting was held to discuss the organization of a voluntary mega blood donation camp, a joint initiative of the Departments Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Transport, and Tourism.
“The camp is aimed at meeting the growing demand for blood in emergency situations. It reflects our commitment to public welfare through inter-departmental cooperation,” said Minister Chowdhury.
The meeting was attended by Secretary of the Department of Tourism Uttam Kumar Chakma, Director Prashant Badal Negi, Commissioner of the Department of Transport Subrata Chowdhury, Special Secretary of the Department of Food, Public Procurement and Consumer Affairs Debapriya Bardhan, Director Sumit Lodh, and other senior officials.
Officials discussed logistical arrangements, mobilization strategies, and the role of various departments in ensuring the success of the camp. The date and venue for the blood donation drive will be announced soon.
The Minister also urged citizens and government employees alike to actively participate in the noble cause.
