The Bhavan's Tripura Vidya Mandir on Wednesday observed Rabindra Jayanti in remembrance of world poet Rabindranath Tagore's birthday, where students and faculties of both the shifts participated.
The observance of the day began from May 7 last, where the students of Nursery to Class-II offered their tribute to Tagore, while on Wednesday the students of classes-III to V celebrated Rabindra Utsav.
Eminent dramatist and script writer Gour Das Deb, eminent Rabindra sangeet vocalist Purni Basu, Principal Swapna Shome and Headmistress Pompi Majumder among others were present in the programme held on Wednesday.
In the secondary section, the programme was initiated with watering of the plants as a mark of love for nature and floral tribute to the portrait of the poet Rabindranath Tagore. Various cultural programmes were organised to mark the day.
To celebrate Rabindra Jayanti, the institution hosted a week- long competition of cultural activities, culminating in the felicitation of the winners during this august gathering.
