In a bizarre incident, Ambassa Sub Divisional police under the leadership of police officer Pranab Debnath conducted a raid at Ambassa Police station.
Based on the secret information when the Silchar Agartala train arrived at the station at around 4:00 pm police detained one SPO Jawan Parimal Debbarma (36) son of Nagendra Debbarma and searched his bag. During the search police recovered two 9 mm pistols, 7.65 mm of 20 round live cartages along with cash Rs. 1500 along with Voter ID, Pan Card.
The incident has sparked off massive panic across Ambassa. It is estimated that the accused is involved in a gang of illegal works and is highly involved in any kid of smuggling racket. There is no doubt that the railways are highly used for smuggling contraband goods but as of now the illegal business racket has come down as CM Biplab Kumar Deb has sent a strong message against the drug mafias.
However, police is further investigating the case. Police is expecting that many more information will come out during the interrogation.
