Ranjit appeals tribal youths to come forward to write in Kokborak

AGARTALA:

Altogether 1652 mother languages are prevailing in the country at present. It is troublesome for language of minority community to survive by challenging with the language of majority community, said MP Sankar Prasad Dutta during his speech on second day of Kakroubay Tai Hukumu Tera, 2019 at Khumulwng stadium in ADC today.

Chairman of ADC Dr. Ranjit Debbarma attended the programme as chief guest in presence of Revenue minister of the state N.C. Debbarma, Executive member of Industry in ADC Paresh Chandra Sarkar, former Executive Officer of Paschim Zila Parishad Tapan Das, President’s award winner singer Hemanta Kumar Jamatia and Executive Officer Balin Debbarma. Executive member of Science, Technology and Environment Joybahadur Jamatia presided over the programme.

Meanwhile Chief Executive Member Radhacharan Debbarma, Member of ICA Parikhsit Mura Singh and Executive Member of SW & SE Sandhya Rani Chakma attended the Literary and Cultural fair.

Speaking on the occasion MP Dutta said, languages of small community could only survive with the cooperation of majority language. He appealed the Central and State Government to come forward for development of ADC.

Revenue minister N.C. Debbarma said, revolution of tribal community started from the period of royal rule. He appealed the educated youths to research on the subject. He further said, imaginary stories, dances, songs are going to abolish. Garia, Lebang Bumani, Mamita dances are being diverted. He stressed on keeping those in written form. He emphasized on necessity of tribal development in collaboration with centre, state and ADC. He appealed to the writers and intellectuals to submit memorandum to the delegates of 15th Finance Commission for development of tribal in the state.

Chief Guest Ranjit Debbarma stressed on keeping books of other languages along with Kokborok books in the library. He appealed the youths to come forward for creative writing in Kokborok stressing on the necessity of maintaining peace and harmony among tribal and non tribal.

On the occasion a colourful cultural programme was organized where cultural organizations of different community performed their traditional dances and songs.
