Poor students are facing lot of troubles to get higher education due to wrong education policy of Central Government, said Chief Executive Member of ADC Radhacharan Debbarma during his address at Fresher’s Welcome and Rakhi Bandhan Utsav organized Khumulwng Government Degree College today.
He greeted the new students and advised them to study attentively. He expected bright future of students after getting Degree. Referring Degree is not enough he said, the students should prepare themselves properly to survive in the era of globalization.
He said, getting higher education became harder in the country at present because the tribal students are deprived of studying Medical or Engineering if they fail to secure 65 percent marks. He alleged that center is pushing education towards privatization.
The rights of tribal people of Tripura were seriously suppressed by the Royal rulers, said Chief Executive Member during his speech at Nuyai Auditorium on the occasion of World Indigenous Day yesterday.
He said, the royal rulers did not ensure the right of citizen. The suppression of people’s right increased after inclusion of Tripura with India. The money lenders started to exploit people. The tribal people were saved from exploitation when Left Front came into power in 1978.
He said, land, culture, heritage of tribal people are going towards overall development due to Left Front Government. He appealed to maintain peace and harmony to continue the legacy.
