Purpose of forming ADC to protect land, language and culture: Radha

AGARTALA:

The purpose of forming ADC is to protect land, language, heritage, culture of tribal people, said Chief Executive Member of ADC Radhacharan Debbarma while inaugurating cultural programme of Rupini Community at Taicikam Kami in Khumulwng sub zonal today.

He said, state government and ADC are engaged in all round development of tribal people. At present facilities of studying Kokborok from school level to university level.

Meanwhile ADC administration has taken initiative to develop Kokborok literature to take it at higher level. For that purpose Language section of Education department under ADC has taken initiative to publish book on tradition and culture of 19 tribal communities.

ADC area is working to develop language, tradition and culture of all communities without leaving any community in terms of small population.

On the occasion artists of Rupini community performed dance and songs.
