Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday virtually interacted with the Lakhpati Didis across the country and said that the Lakhpati and Namo Drone Didis will script a new chapter of women empowerment for the country.
The event was broadcasted Live from Agartala Town Hall on Monday, where 2 Lakhpati Didis from each of the 9 blocks of the state were felicitated and given certificates. PM Modi interacted with a ‘Bank Sakhi’ Lakhpati Didi – Anima Debnath of Dukli Block in West Tripura.
Chairman of Panchayat Samiti of various blocks of West Tripura district, Chairman of BAC, DM of West Tripura district Dr Vishal Kumar, Additional DM Prashant Badal Negi and others were present in the event.
During the exchange of views, the Prime Minister also inquired about the family, social status of Lakhpati Didi Anima Debnath and the self-help group she is associated with. The Prime Minister urged her to come forward to create more Lakhpati Didis.
Revolving funds and community investment funds were given to various self-help groups of West Tripura district. Cheque of loan amounting to Rs 1,75, 35, 000 was handed over to 78 different self-help groups of the Mandai block of the district.
