Theft of valuable mobile phones form shops is going on at full swing at Baikhora and Jolaibari under Santirbazar subdivision during last few months. Meanwhile a mobile thief fled away from the captivity of police.
Sources said that a gang of thieves had stolen some valuable mobile phones from the shop of Nashu Karmakar at Bikhora Bazar before few days. With this complain the shop owner filed a case at the police station. Anyhow police did not proceed with investigation of the case.
Meanwhile people of Laxmicherra witnessed a gang of thieves were moving in the village during last few days. The gang includes some outsider boys who are involved with some boys of the village. Following the gang the villagers tried catch the gang members red handed.
At last police caught the thieves of the gang with the help of villagers on Sunday last. One thief Satyendra Tripura said that he had many mobile phones at his house. Accordingly police started for the house of Satyendra. But the thief misguided police and wondered at the same place.
At a time the thief fled away in presence of four police staffs including a police officer and woman constable. The incident created resentment among the people. Later, SDPO and TSR rushed to the spot. Although, they failed to seek out the thief.
