A review meeting on the progress of various infrastructure projects under the Transport Department was held at the Secretariat Conference Hall on Monday. The meeting was chaired by Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.
During the meeting, the minister reviewed the progress of several development projects, including the construction of new District Transport Office (DTO) buildings in Kailashahar, Teliamura, Bishalgarh, and Santirbazar. He also sought updates on the construction of motor stands in Jirania, Gandatwisa, Melaghar, Manughat, and Jolaibari.
The minister further reviewed the progress of the Bus Port project at Rajarbagh, Udaipur, the construction of an Inter-State Bus Terminal at Sabroom, and the new building for the office of the Transport Commissioner in Agartala.
Addressing the officials, Minister Chowdhury directed that all development works must be completed within the stipulated time while maintaining proper quality standards. He assured that there would be no shortage of funds for development works.
During the meeting, Transport Department Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma and Additional Secretary Subrata Chowdhury briefed the minister in detail about the progress of various infrastructure projects under the department.
Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department Sanjay Kumar Das and Chief Engineer of the Rural Development Department Khudiram Tripura, along with other senior officials of the Transport Department, were also present at the meeting.
