Five including two Rohingyas, Indian touts held in Tripura

In the midst of the impending Lok Sabha elections, Tripura Police have apprehended two Rohingya individuals along with three Indian accomplices from Uttam Bhakra Chowmuhani in Sepahijala District.

Rana Chatterjee, Officer-in-Charge of Bishalgarh Police Station, disclosed to reporters that acting on a tip-off, they established a checkpoint resulting in the detention.

"Today, at our inter-district checkpoint at Uttam Bhakta Naka point, we intercepted a vehicle based on intelligence received. Upon thorough inspection, we discovered two Rohingya nationals accompanied by three Indian individuals. Initial questioning suggests they had ventured into the state for employment purposes," he elucidated.

The Rohingya detainees were identified as Harul and Md. Jahangir Alam, while the Indian counterparts were recognized as Md. Faruk Mia, Abdul Kasesm, and Robel.
