CPI(M) poll manifesto – an attempt to compromise with national security: Biplab Kumar Deb

AGARTALA:

The BJP candidate for the West Tripura parliamentary constituency and former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday took a dig at the poll manifesto of the opposition CPI(M) and said that the poll manifesto is an attempt to compromise with national security.

Addressing a press conference here at Agartala on Tuesday, Deb said, “The poll manifesto released by the CPI(M) clearly mentioned that if they come to power, they will eliminate nuclear weapons, chemical and biological weapons, and other weapons of mass destruction.”

“The poll manifesto of CPI(M) is more aligned with countries like Pakistan and China. The fact that the CPI(M) would prioritize such measures over the security of our countrymen is deeply concerning,” he told reporters.

Deb later criticized the alliance between the CPI(M) and the Congress party in Tripura and said, “When both the parties were in alliance in West Bengal, the Congress leaders in Tripura had quit the party to join Trinamool Congress and then they joined the BJP, form where they again shifted to Congress and now made an alliance with the CPI(M).”

“This alliance of the Congress and CPI(M) is nothing but to yet again cheat the people of Tripura,” Deb said.
