In view of the intense heat wave, the Tripura government has announced an extension of shutdown of all government aided schools and privately managed schools till May 1 next.
The Additional Secretary of the Education (School) department in his memorandum on Sunday stated, “due to perpetuation of scorching heat wave throughout the State, it has been decided that all the Government & Government Aided Schools under Education (School) Department, Govt. of Tripura, Schools under TTAADC and Privately Managed Schools will remain closed for more 3 (three) days w.e.f. 29/04/2024 to 01/05/2024.”
All the district education officers were asked to convey this decision to each and every school under their jurisdiction, the order said.
Earlier with the state buffeted by a heat wave, the Tripura government declared a holiday in all schools for four days from April 24 till April 27 to provide respite to children.
