Combating COVID-19: CM pitches to strengthen health care system in Tripura districts

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb who is currently in visit to different districts of the state on Wednesday made his day long visit to the Dhalai Tripura district and pitched to strengthen the health care facility in all the districts of the state as part of combating the deadly COVID-19 disease.

Deb who also holds the health portfolio today said, “Steps are being taken to strengthen the health care system in the districts of the state to ease the COVID-19 infected patients. It needs at least 4 to 5 hours to shift the patients in the districts to Agartala GBP dedicated COVID hospital which perhaps have been creating problems.”

“To meet this problems of shifting district patients to Agartala, the Tripura government is working to increase the bed capacity in the districts’ primary health centres and COVID Care Centres (CCC),” adding to this Deb said, “The Dhalai primary health centre is to be made 15-bedded COVID Care Hospital by two days. Staring from Oxygen beds to essential medicines like injections and others from GBP hospital are to be sent soon.”

Meanwhile, another 15 oxygen beds are to be sent to 335-bedded COVID Hospital at Ambassa in Dhalai district. Deb said that the COVID hospital at Ambassa is currently having 4 oxygen beds and 25 oxymetres.

However, the chief minister today held a meeting with his cabinet colleague Manoj Kanti Deb and other concerned administrative officers at Dhalai district conference hall to discuss the issues related to COVID management in the district.

Earlier on Tuesday Deb was in his day-long visit at North and Unakoti district and held a series of meetings with the district officials and Minister Santana Chakma.
