If there is law that is broken, there must be retribution or justice meted, no matter at what level the crime is committed. Same goes with Mitan Nath, a shopkeeper from Dharmanagar who had been booked on Monday for cheating his customers for selling poultry eggs in place of duck eggs derived from farm households.
Nath had allegedly added colour to poultry eggs to give it a look and feel of domestic eggs.
Local sources said, “Mitan’s cheat exposed in front of all after people started washing the eggs properly before using it for cooking. Once the eggs are delivered in the bowl full of water, the colourless water wears a different shade. The matter angered some of his customers and then he was summoned by the locals”.
Sources in the police said, first he refused to admit his crime but when the police intervened he confessed his crime and was brought behind the bars.
