A group of people blocked convoy of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma at Ambassa –Kamalpur Tri – Junction yesterday when the convoy of CM was proceeding towards Ambassa Town Hall for inauguration and campaign of different projects of Central Government.
They blocked the road on demand of power service as they failed to restore service after filing complains TSECL. The youths continued protest sitting on the road.
On being informed a large contingent of police led by SDPO Pranab Debnath arrived on the spot after sometime. Immediately the agitators dispersed on being challenged by police. However police arrested five youths from the spot and took them to Ambassa Police Station.
Sources said that the five youths are IPFT workers. They staged road blockade on demand of power in their village and they made Chief Minister responsible for power cut.
Although Chief Minister did not utter anything about the incident, common people raised question about the irresponsible attitude of IPFT workers. Meanwhile police started investigation to seek out reason behind the incident
