BJP inches closer to landslide victory, CPIM confident of forming 8th Left front govt.

As counting of polls for 59 assembly seats are underway in the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which emerged as the biggest rivalry for the CPIM in Tripura is inching closer to the landslide victory while the CPI-M comes up optimistic of forming the next 8th Left front government.

According to the latest updates, the BJP is heading in 38 seats leaving the CPIM which is ahead in 20 seats, red-faced .

However, as the BJP state observer Sunil Deodarh is hopeful and confident that BJP will form the Govt in Tripura, the CPIM Polit buro member Brinda Karat tweeted saying that after the completion of all rounds of counting, the CPI-M’s lead shall get much bigger.

The counting of votes began on Saturday for the polls held on February 18 for 59 Tripura assembly constituencies.
