Amid Covid Staff shortage hits TLM hospital

AGARTALA:

Serious manpower shortage hit Teliamura hospital as only three doctors were delivering services at a time when the Covid situation in the sub-division town turned grim.

Sources said that the doctors became extremely busy to tackle the medical service of the busiest Subdivision Hospital at Teliamura.  At present 2 out of 8 doctors of the hospital have joined in 6 months Ultra Sonography Certificate Course (USC).

Another doctor went to Covid Centre at Khowai District Hospital on deputation. Besides, two doctors went to leave as they became ill when they were busy in treatment of Covid patients. One and only MD Medicine doctor of the hospital went to leave due to his illness.

In such a situation continuing medical service of the hospital is not possible by only three doctors. So SDMO Chandan Biswas has sent a message to CMO for sending 4 doctors on urgent basis to tackle the present situation.

Meanwhile 160 Corona positive patients have been detected at Teliamura subdivision.

Out of them 61 are at Home isolation and 18 are at Home Quarantine.  Altogether 1365 patients have completed their term of home quarantine.  Meanwhile 3 persons died of the infection of Coronavirus at Teliamura. Sources said that one Ayurvedic doctor, one nurse and one pharmacist are among the Corona affected patients. Besides, 3 Sub Inspectors of Teliamura Police Station and some employees of different departments have been infected by corona virus.
