The Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) have arrested eight Bangladeshi women and one Indian tout at Agartala Railway Station as they attempted to board the Kanchanjunga Express bound for Mumbai in search of work.
The Officer-In-Charge of GRP Agartala, Tapas Das, stated that all nine Bangladeshi nationals had entered Tripura illegally from the Sonmura sub-division under the Sepahijala District.

In total, we apprehended 8 Bangladeshi nationals and one Indian tout. During preliminary interrogation, they disclosed their intention to travel to Mumbai and Pune via Sealdah in search of work. They admitted to illegally crossing the border from Comilla of Bangladesh," explained the officer.
