Hundreds of devotees on Friday thronged at Agartala Jagannath Bari Temple to witness Snana Yatra or Deva Snana Purnima of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra.
Through a ritualistic procession, early in the morning, the servitors escorted out the deities. The Lords were taken to the bathing altar (Snana Mandap) with a Pahandi procession.
During the bathing rituals, servitors poured 108 pots of water blended with aromatic herbs, Sandal wood paste, Keshar and Karpur on the deities. The water was collected from the sacred golden well (Suna Kua) located within the temple premises.
The Utsav has been celebrated with pomp and deity at the premises of the temple. Devotees from different parts visited Jaganath Temple to have a glance of Jaganath Snana. After the completion of the rituals the idols of the deities were shifted to their own kaksha (room), and will remain in isolation till the day before the Rath Yatra.
