The state social welfare minister Tinku Roy on Tuesday inaugurated the state level observance of the International Day of Older Person here in a function at Agartala Muktadhara Auditorium and appealed to stop ill practices against the older persons.

Speaking on the matter, West Tripura District Superintendent of Police, Kiran Kumar, stated that at the Champaknagar Naka checking point under the Jirania Sub-division of West Tripura District, police detained a man based on intelligence reports.

Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu arrived in Aizawl on Sunday to take additional charge as the Governor of Mizoram on Monday, officials said.
