A road accident claimed the life of a 30-year-old youth while two more sustained severe injuries. The incident took place in the area adjacent to Kakulia Forest Range Office of Jolaibari under Shantirbazar sub-division.
When a freight car lost control and fell into a ditch on the side of the road the young man was killed on the spot. Two other people were seriously injured.
Fire service officials rushed to the spot after receiving information about the accident.
Firefighters rescued the dead and injured from the spot and took them to Jolaibari Social Health Center. The doctor on duty at the hospital declared Paichaha Mog brought dead. Besides, one of the two injured persons was referred to Shantirbazar District Hospital and the other to Gomati District Hospital.
Meanwhile, after receiving the news of the accident, the police of Baikhora police station rushed to the spot.
Later, in the presence of the police, the postmortem of the deceased was conducted at Jolaibari Hospital. After postmortem, the body was handed over to the family.
On the other hand, the injured are Nithai Mog, a resident of Kalsi area and Anjafru Mog, a resident of Gaburchra.
